Future happenings at this site

The plan is to publish within a few months, hopefully not more than 3 or 4 months, a book which I have spent years, off and on, pulling together, some 900 to 1,000 pages, entitled, “The Human Use of Insects as a Food Resource.”  The book is arranged geographically.  It is expected that it will be purchasable not only in its entirety, but also in parts separately, such as by chapter or by one of the three sections.  Small charges will be necessary to defray the costs of publishing, but they won't be anywhere near what a publisher would charge for a work of this size.   More on this later.

IMPORTANT NOTICE The Food Insects Newsletter, Volume 12, Number 1, page 7, announced that the Web-based book "The Human Use of Insects as a Food Resource," by Gene R. DeFoliart, would be published on this Website beginning in January 2002. We are sorry but there have been further delays, and there are still unresolved questions, so it is expected to be at least several months into the year 2002 before chapters begin to appear.
